If you are looking for fun on and off the water, Roei- & Zeilvereniging Naarden is the right place for you. Although it does not rule out a healthy dose of competitive spirit. Since 1982, Jachthaven Naarden has been the home of the club.
Each year two tours are organized by Roei- & Zeilvereniging Naarden. 'Rondje Noord-Holland' is often around the Ascension Weekend, with the aim of gaining experience with coastal sailing. Then at Pentecost it is time for the England tour, during which one day and one night is sailed on large waters. Non-member can take part in both trips.
The Wednesday evening competition (WAC) is the central activity of the association. Between April till September, the starting signal for the race is given every Wednesday evening at 19:30 hrs. Every week some 30 to 40 boats participate, divided over different classes.
Sailing is a great sport that children can start with at an early age! From the age of 8-9 years, kids are welcome at Roei- & Zeilvereniging Naarden to participate in youth sailing. After a training in the swimming pool, they go on the water themselves with an Optimist. The older children sail with the Open BIC, Splash or Laser. Once they have mastered sailing, they can also participate in various competitions organized by the association.
It's still a young competition: the Frostbite Cup. It's only since 2015 that a title has been fought for in the winter months as well, because sailing is possible all year round! From the beginning of October until the start of March there will be competitions for the J/80s.
